The IURC project was developed to lead and develop a form of decentralised international urban and regional cooperation whose main activity axes would be sustainable urban development and innovation in key partner countries and regions in line with the external dimension of ‘Europe 2020’.
EU Consulta provided the Bangkok-based Team Leader and a broad network of experts for GFA Consulting Group, which the European Union had commissioned with the project implementation.
The thematic area covered by the project was sustainable urban development, including - among others - smart city, circular economy, waste management, nature-based solutions, green infrastructure, mobility, tactical urbanism, and innovation ecosystems.
