The International City Partnerships: Acting for Green and Inclusive Recovery was a project of the European Union and managed by the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission.
The project was implemented from October 2021 to June 2023 and originated in a pilot project of the European Parliament that sought to contribute to the delivery of international commitments articulated in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the UN New Urban Agenda.
The aim of the project was to contribute to the improvement of quality of life in participating cities, by promoting sustainable and integrated urban development, through the identification of innovative policies and programmes. In particular, the project sought to develop policy and practice in four key priority themes of the Urban Agenda of the EU (see below).
As a consortium member, EU Consulta provided thematic experts and country coordinators in Asia (Korea, Taiwan), South Africa, and Canada.
The thematic areas covered by the project included circular economy, air quality, energy transition, and integration of migrants and refugees.
